Over Summer 2022, I had the privilege of working under the fintech company Better to enhance my understanding of the industry and hone my product design and thinking skills.
I worked with the Better Cover product team, a group of product owners, product managers, software engineers, and product designers, in an initiative to decouple Better's homeowner's insurance product from its flagship mortgage service.
Over the course of the summer, I designed entry flows within Better's proprietary loan platform, Tinman, to cross-sell Better Cover as a member of the Better ecosystem. This involved the creation of CTA's at multiple breakpoint widths and the creation of new design components.
This summer allowed me to dive into the design system and learn about the underlying principles of branding, visual design, and interaction design at Better. Working in a cross-functional team allowed me to actively gauge multiple workstreams, and, as a designer, pitch in at every opportunity I could.
